Come and see our rehearsals!
Every Thursday evening from 19.45 to 22.15
in Village House Badhoevedorp
If you like singing and can keep your tone, come and meet SU! You don't need to be able to read music or have a trained singing voice. You just have to enjoy singing with others and be able to stick to your own part. You don't even need any experience, just the willingness to learn new things like breathing techniques, singing and performance skills.
To study songs, you get MP3 files of our current repertoire along with the sheet music. Sing in the car on the way to work or while you're vacuuming and you'll be learning the music in no time!
Come along to a rehearsal to see what we do:
Thursday evening from 19.45 to 22.15 pm in Dorpshuis Badhoevedorp
How do I become a member?
Have you attended one of our rehearsals and would you like to become a member? Then you get a short voice test to classify yourself in one of the four voices, based on your range: bass, baritone, lead or tenor.
MORE ABOUT THE SECTIONS
Our music is based on four-part chords that are sung a cappella (without musical accompaniment).
You then attend various rehearsals and study one audition number at home and during rehearsals. One of our members, your 'buddy', supports you throughout this process. Within 6 weeks you will be singing this song together with 3 experienced members in a quartet.
The requirement is that you can sing your part flawlessly, in tone and with a good singing attitude and energy. Did you pass your audition? Then we would like to welcome you as a member of Singing Unlimited!
You will further develop your singing and performance skills during rehearsals, coaching weekends and various local and national performances and events. Coaches from home and abroad help us to get better and better. And our Director and the members of our music staff will also assist you where necessary.
Part of Sweet Adelines International
Singing Unlimited is a member of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) and is part of region 31, the Quartet of Nations. Every year, usually in May, the choirs from our region compete against each other in the regional SAI competition. We will all fly to England for this and then enjoy a fantastic convention weekend there.
Be warned: singing in an a cappella choir is highly addictive!
